EAU CLAIRE, WI (MetroSource-WSAU) Mount Pleasant, Milwaukee and Green Bay won’t be the only Wisconsin locations for Foxconn.
A Foxconn executive will join Governor Walker Monday in Eau Claire to announce what they’re calling a major economic development. The event will be at Phoenix Park. The Governor hinted at the announcement at a Chamber of Commerce event last week. The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports it’s believed to be a third facility after Walker and company chairman Terry Gou said in June the Taiwanese company was going to open an innovation center with over 200 employees in Green Bay.
Earlier this month Foxconn had a ceremonial groundbreaking at their Mount Pleasant site in Racine County, although site-prep work had been ongoing there for weeks. The company has already announced that the North American headquarters will be in the old Northwestern Mutual Life building in Milwaukee.
Foxconn also has purchased additional land in Racine County and may be considering other development outside of its Mount Pleasant campus. The company has also been looking at locations in Madison for possible research and development partnerships with the UW-Madison campus.
