MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) Marquette University is partnering with Foxconn to help the Taiwanese firm attract the high-skilled workers it will need for its new plant in Racine County.
Foxconn officials will be at the university on Monday to show off its high-definition LCD panels and other items. They will also be working to recruit students to careers with the company. The event runs until 6pm in the Alumni Memorial Union. It’s open to students from other schools in the area along with Marquette students, staff and alumni.
Foxconn has already posted its first 30 management jobs on several employment-related sites.
Many experts say Foxconn will have trouble attracting all of the rank-and-file manufacturing employees it needs, and will have to train many of the workers who apply for their positions. Foxconn plans to hire up to 13,000 people for its new manufacturing site in Mount Pleasant and ancillary businesses. Construction on the new plant is supposed to begin in the spring of 2018.
