MADISON, WI (WSAU) There could be driverless vehicle lanes added to Interstate 94 in Racine County for the Foxconn plant. State transportation officials are considering that option, although no decisions have yet been made.
The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports regional officials were under the belief they were ahead of the curve on traffic issues with plans to expand I-94 to eight lanes until Foxconn asked about lanes for autonomous vehicles.
One possibility would be to have such a lane between the plant in Racine County and Mitchell International Airport in Milwaukee, a distance of about 25-miles.
