MANITOWOC, WI (WTAQ- WLUK) – Manitowoc Police say two women fighting over a man landed one of those women in jail.
Police say around 3:30 p.m., Sunday, on the 5300 block of Calumet Avenue a 26-year-old Manitowoc woman was punched numerous times by a 29-year-old Manitowoc woman.
Police go on to say the 26-year-old was seriously injured and later treated at a hospital.
During the argument, the 26-year-old went inside her home, grabbed a 9mm handgun and fired two shots into the air. No one was hurt after the shots were fired.
Police say the 29-year-old left the scene and was picked up by a friend in a black Buick.
Eventually, officers spotted the Buick and arrested the 29-year-old.
The 29-year-old could face battery charges. Police say the 26-year-old was not arrested for firing her weapon because she used it to defend herself.
