UNDATED (WSAU-WXPR) — Earlier this month, a Milwaukee-area businessman launched a campaign as a Democrat for Governor. 60 year old Andy Gronik of Fox Point says he’s interested in returning Wisconsin to the values the state had prior to the governorship of Scott Walker.
Gronik was successful in the financial services industry, but says he’s a progressive.
“When you have labor and management working together, productively, towards common goals, that’s how everything great is built,” he said. “I mean, I’m a person who, in a lot of the problem solving I’ve done, it always seems to start in a conference room somewhere. The first thing I’ve told people is, listen, problems do not get solved in the conference room. They get solved on the factory floor.”
Gronik also says he’s focusing in some key issues.
“I think Wisconsinites want to come back together and find ways to, despite whatever our differences are, to make sure that we are creating good paying jobs throughout the state and that we do have great schools where our kids have an opportunity to get a great education and move on to a great life,” Gronik said.
Several other Democrats have expressed an interest in the Democratic nomination, including state schools superintendent Tony Evers.
