LUXEMBURG, WI (WTAQ) – State Highway 54 in Kewaunee County is open again after a vehicle struck a utility pole in the village of Luxemburg, sending two people to the hospital.
According to the Kewaunee County Sheriff’s Department, the crash happened just after 6:00 p.m. on the highway, just east of Hillview Road.
A 36-year-old Algoma woman was driving a 1996 Ford Ranger westbound on State Highway 54 when it left the roadway due to snow-covered surface and struck the utility pole.
Both the driver and her passenger were taken to a Green Bay hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
A stretch of highway 54 had been temporarily closed while Wisconsin Public Service crews fixed the damaged utility pole.
The crash remains under investigation.
