MADISON, WI (WSAU) A man who shot and killed a convenience store clerk in Madison was sentenced to life in prison on Thursday. 37-year-old Curtis Langolis will not be eligible for parole.
Langolis was also responsible for two armed robberies in the Wausau area — at the Fast Break Mobil on Thomas Street and Family Video on 6th Street.
Langolis was convicted of shooting and killing a worker at the 7-Eleven on the Beltline in Madison on August 2nd. A second man was shot during the robbery, but survived multiple gunshot wounds. Langolis was arrested six days later returning to the Wausau area. Police received a tip and took him into custody on August 8.
Marathon County did not pursue a case against Langolis after he was prosecuted on more serious charges in Madison.
