CUDAHY, WI (WSAU) Police are now looking for a Cudahy man accused of setting his workplace on fire to try to kill a spider.
A warrant was issued for 24-year-old Kevin Butler’s arrest Wednesday when he didn’t show up for a hearing. He allegedly set the spider on fire last October at A.L. Schutzman Company, causing $13,000 in damage. He’s charged with arson and criminal damage to property.
Footage from a surveillance camera shows Butler setting two industrial-sized sacks of almonds on fire after seeing a spider.
Butler told police at the time he set the spider on fire because that’s what he’d done to them since he was a kid. When he was questioned last October Butler apologized and said the fire was unintentional.
