KEWAUNEE, WI (WTAQ) – Kewaunee County Sheriff’s Department releasing more information about an officer involved shooting Monday night.
Officers were called to the incident on County Highway AB, two miles south of Highway 29 in the Town of Franklin around 8 p.m.
A male suspect is dead, the officer was not hurt.
“This did unfold involving more than one residential location as well as areas adjacent to public roadways. So it’s a very dynamic and large scene,” said Kewaunee County Sheriff Matt Joski.
During a press conference Tuesday, Joski says they met with the victim’s family and ask the public to respect their privacy and the process of the investigation.
“So I ask that everyone, not only in the traditional media but also those venues out in social media, please try to respect the deceased (man’s) family, the officer’s involved, and the sensitively to the community.
An autopsy is being performed today.
The scene of the incident remains closed until that autopsy is completed.
More information will be released in the coming days from the Department of Criminal Investigations.
