APPLETON, WI (WTAQ) – A suspect has been identified as the man who sold heroin to the woman who died from an apparent overdose in a Menasha convenience store.
Police have not released the 25-year-old woman’s name. Officials did say that the victim had come in from outside the area and stopped in the store’s bathroom to use the heroin.
Christopher Krohe of Appleton was identified as a suspect by Fox Valley drug agents, who arranged to buy some heroin from him. When the agents witnessed Krohe sell heroin, he was quickly arrested. Krohe admitted selling her the drugs, officials say, but was unaware of her death.
A search of Krohe turned up heroin and fentanyl. When officials searched his apartment, they uncovered more drugs and a stolen handgun. Krohe has yet to be formally charged.
Investigators believe the heroin sold to the woman was a batch from Chicago that had been mixed with fentanyl.
