GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – More information is being released about a drunk driving crash early Saturday morning at Karen’s Pub in downtown Green Bay.
The accident happened near Roosevelt and Main Streets just after midnight.
Lt. Karl Ackermann with Green Bay Police Department says the male driver hit three people as he crashed into the bar.
“He struck the curb on the west side of the street and then continued his turn presumably to go into the parking lot there, but did not turn sharp enough and instead of turning into the parking lot, he turned right into the front door of the bar.
All three people hit were taken to the hospital.
“I had heard that one of the subjects had possibly gone into surgery for an amputation. The other two victims did have substantial injuries but not to the level that would require that type of medical treatment,” says Ackermann.
The driver is charged with a felony of causing great bodily harm by intoxicated use of a motor vehicle.
He’s scheduled to be in court Monday afternoon.
It’s the driver’s 2nd offense OWI.
