GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – An electrical malfunction with the Main Street Bridge in Green Bay caused it to be stuck open for several hours Wednesday morning.
City officials say the bridge had the malfunction on the bridge sensors around midnight.
To repair the problem, officials needed to get into the bridge to clear the electronic sensor error. It was fixed and reopened to traffic around noon.
Steve Grenier from Green Bay City Public Works tells FOX 11 the city is hoping to get some control system upgrades this summer to alleviate these kinds of problems.
The computer system currently used for the bridge was installed in 1998.
