GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – A judge says that a retired priest will stand trial on charges he exposed himself to a minor.
Fr. Richard Thomas waived his preliminary hearing on Monday in Brown County court. Thomas will enter a plea May 23 to 4 counts of exposing genital area to a child.
Thomas was living in Grellinger Hall, which is a home for retired priests in Allouez, when he allegedly exposed himself 4 times in March to a 16-year-old boy while he walked to school.
Thomas told investigators at the time of his arrest that, “he is already seeking treatment,” according to the criminal complaint.
The Catholic Diocese of Green Bay restricted Thomas from performing any public ministry after the report of misconduct.
