WAUSHARA COUNTY, WI (WTAQ) – The Waushara County Sheriff’s Office says a dead animal found hanging in a tree is being investigated as an animal abuse case.
Deputies say they got a report of possible animal abuse near 28th Avenue, north of County Highway Q, in the Town of Leon Monday.
The land is owned by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources.
Authorities believe the animal had been put there within 24 hours. A necropsy is scheduled to determine cause of death.
Investigators say they’re unsure what kind of animal was found at this time.
