TOWN OF FOND DU LAC, WI (WTAQ) – A Monday night highway pursuit leads to a man under arrest for allegedly driving under the influence and leading deputies on a high-speed chase in Fond du Lac County.
Sheriff’s Department says around 7:30 a deputy noticed a vehicle traveling at in excess of 100 mph on Interstate 41, near Highway 151 in the town of Fond du Lac.
When the deputy tried to get the vehicle to stop, it continued into Dodge County.
Tire deflation devices were put down and helped reduce the vehicle’s speed.
When the vehicle stopped, the driver, a 27-year-old Sussex man, was taken into custody.
His passenger, a 30-year-old woman, was also arrested on suspicion of drug paraphernalia possession and bail jumping.
Deputies say they are recommending felony eluding, recklessly endangering safety and operating while under the influence charges against the driver.
Authorities say the chase spanned 12 miles and there were no reported injuries.
One civilian vehicle was damaged after it was unable to avoid the tire deflation devices.
