DUNN, Wis (WSAU) There’s been another drowning Red Cedar River, the second in two days. The Dunn County Sheriffs Department says the latest victim was trying to help some tubers who were stuck in the strong current. He slipped under the water.
The man was pulled to shore near the Downsville boat landing. Onlookers tried to revive him. He was pronounced dead after being airlifted to Mayo Hospital in Eau Claire. His name has not been released.
A woman drowned in the Red Cedar River on Sunday. 43-year-old Susan Shackleton of New Auburn fell off a landing and was carried downstream. Police say alcohol was a factor in her death.
