MILWAUKEE (WTAQ) – Authorities have identified the body of an Oshkosh woman found dead outdoors in bitterly cold temperatures in Milwaukee.
According to the Milwaukee County Medical Examiner’s office, the body of 21-year-old Elizabeth K. Luebke was found on a sidewalk in the city’s Riverwest neighborhood around 9 a.m. Sunday.
Luebke was in town for a concert and then went to a house party afterward, investigators say. They also say Luebke was drunk at the party and left sometime during the night for an unknown reason.
The area where Luebke was found was about a block or two away from where the party took place.
Officers say a video camera at a business across the street from where Luebke’s body was found recorded video of her walking. It showed she collapsed around 4:25 a.m. She continued moving until around 7 a.m.
Authorities say there were no obvious signs of trauma or injury.
Luebke was not dressed for the weather, as she was wearing a tank top and stockings under her shorts. A sweater was found on the ground next to her body.
The temperatures that night fell below zero.
An autopsy is expected to be done Monday.
