UNDATED (WTAQ) – In the wake of the buzz surrounding Netflix’s ten-part documentary series “Making a Murderer“, the man thousands of viewers now believe is innocent has a new attorney.
According to a tweet, the law firm of Kathleen T. Zellner and Associates announced they will be assuming the full and complete representation of Steven Avery.
Zellner’s firm will be aided by local Wisconsin counsel Tricia Bushnell, who’s the legal director of the Midwest Innocence Project.
Avery and his nephew Brendan Dassey were convicted in the 2005 murder of Teresa Halbach.
According to the firm’s online bio, Zellner claims she has righted more wrongful convictions than any other private attorney in America.
“The Zellner Law Firm is looking forward to adding Mr. Avery to its long list of wrongful conviction exonerations,” Zellner said in a press release.
