MADISON, Wis. (WSAU) — Three people are officially in the running for a seat on the state Supreme Court.
The Government Accountability Board says Justice Rebecca Bradley, appellate judge Joanne Kloppenburg and Milwaukee County judge Joe Donald have all been qualified for the election for the seat of the late Justice Patrick Crooks.
Kloppenburg is a former assistant attorney general for Wisconsin and unsuccessfully ran for Supreme Court in 2011 against Justice David Prosser and was elected to the 4th District Appeals Court in 2012.. Donald is a long time judge in Milwaukee County who has served as the Chief Judge of the Children’s Court and now serves in the general felonies division. Bradley was appointed to the Appellate Court in 2015, and to the Supreme Court last year after the death of Patrick Crooks.
There will be a primary election on February 16th with the final vote at the general elections in April.
