GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – There is another warning being sent out to Green Bay businesses after police say they’ve received multiple reports of counterfeit $100 bills being used.
Multiple Green Bay area businesses reported on or around February 20 that a person tried passing a fake $100 bill.
The employees of those businesses quickly realized the bill was fraudulent and called police. Officers were able to track down the person and question them.
The investigation is ongoing but police urge businesses to always use counterfeit pens and check for water marks in the bill prior to accepting it.
Employees should also be cautious if someone is trying to buy something of small value with a much larger bill.
This comes after Green Bay police issued a separate alert earlier this month, about fake $100 bills with the words “For Motion Picture Use Only” being used.
