Sevastapol, WI (WTAQ) – A Door County school district is feeling the heat after an elementary school principal was put on paid administrative leave, while both the principal and the district administrator are having their professional conduct reviewed.
Sevastopol School District administrator Linda Underwood says the paid administrative leave was at the request of the principal herself, Mary Donaldson. Parents like Sean Linnen want the truth about what’s really going on…
“if it’s true that she did leave voluntarily it has to be the direct result of the increased hostility”
Tensions have risen after the school board voted not to renew Donaldson’s contract.
According to school board documents, both Donaldson and Underwood are under review for concerns about their professional conduct. Underwood is trying to answer questions, at least the ones she can…
“for parents who are upset I realize change is distressing…and that this has been distressing for some of our parents”
The school district says it will not comment on whether the two review situations involving Donaldson and Underwood are connected.
The next school board meeting is March 3rd. Parents say they’re going to show up to support Donaldsoon and demand answers to their questions.
