UNDATED (WTAQ) – Almost 20 of Wisconsin’s 428 school districts are closed Wednesday, after most of the Badger State received less snow than expected on Groundhog Day.
Updated totals show that La Crosse had more than it first reported overnight, with a total of 9.5 inches.
Prescott received more than 11 inches, but most of the northern two-thirds of the state picked up 4 to 7.
Forecasters say the far north expects another 1 to 4 inches of snow Wednesday, while a rain and snow mix is predicted elsewhere.
Ashland and Baraboo are the largest communities with schools closed all day — and dozens of districts are starting classes two hours late.
