GREEN BAY, Wi (WSAU) The Green Bay Packers are bringing back quarterback Joe Callahan and will place him on the practice squad. Although the move hasn’t been officially announced various outlets reported the move on Thursday.
Callahan started the season as a free agent with the Packers and made an impression on the coaching staff during training camp and the pre-season. He started to exhibition games and was the team’s 3rd quarterback but was released during the 5th week of the regular season. He was picked up by New Orleans and later by Cleveland. The Browns released him this week.
To make room on the 10 player practice squad the Packers released wide receiver Dez Stewart.
