MADISON, WI (WTAQ) – It’s Manufacturing Day, when factories showcase their products and employees.
In Wisconsin, Governor Scott Walker and both of the state’s U.S. senators have factory visits scheduled.
Senate Republican Ron Johnson had four sites on his itinerary — the Madison-Kipp plant in Madison, Miro Tool and Manufacturing in Waukesha, and TLX Technologies and Acieta, both in Pewaukee.
Senate Democrat Tammy Baldwin planned to tour Waukesha Metal Products in Sussex.
The Republican Walker was starting his day at Gen-Mat Corporation in Mequon, before heading to Madison’s World Dairy Expo.
Factories are a staple of Walker’s visits around Wisconsin, and he’s been stepping up his schedule in the wake of his failed presidential campaign and a Marquette poll which gave him a record-low approval rating of 37 percent.
