APPLETON, WI (WTAQ) – A suspect in a string of Appleton robberies has been arrested.
Police say 25-year-old Lee Caralvis Pitts is accused of burglarizing a home in the 400 block of E. Wisconsin Avenue back on October 6. A television was taken during the crime.
Pitts is also a suspect in an incident at an apartment complex in the 300 block of W. Schindler Place last Saturday. The victim told police he was walking by when Pitts allegedly pointed a gun with a laser sight at him from an apartment balcony.
Pitts then followed the victim to his apartment, showed the gun again and threatened him.
Then, on Wednesday, Pitts is suspected in a robbery that happened in the 2100 block of S. Walden Avenue. Police say Pitts pulled a handgun and robbed several people inside a home of money and property. One victim was taken to the hospital after being pistol-whipped.
Police are recommending 3 charges of armed robbery, a count of substantial battery and a burglary charge to Outagamie County prosecutors for the October 6 and November 11 incidents. They’re also seeking reckless endangerment charges to Winnebago County prosecutors for the November 7 incident.
