FOND DU LAC, WI (WTAQ) – A 45-year-old man is accused of hiding his brother’s body in a barrel at their home in Ripon.
Robert Diamentis is jailed under a $50,000 cash bond, after being charged with hiding a corpse, failing to report a death of unusual circumstances, and obstructing police.
Authorities said Diamentis’ brother was bedridden with a rare disorder in his immune system.
Prosecutors said he hid his brother’s body in a 50-gallon gallon because it had sores — and he feared that he’d accused of mistreating him.
Fond du Lac County District Attorney Eric Toney said an investigation continues, and an autopsy was not completed by the time Diamentis appeared in court through a video hookup.
His next appearance is set for June 26th, when a judge will decide if there’s enough evidence to order a trial.
