After winning 18 private school state titles in basketball, including a run of 12 in a row, Milwaukee Pius XI is back on top, leading wire to wire in defeating Cedarburg 54-36 for their second WIAA championship, their first since 2010 as a Division 1 school. The Lady Popes raced out to a 12-5 first quarter lead as the Bulldogs made only 2 of 10 shots. Gabby Green scored 20 points to lead Pius, to go along with seven rebounds and five assists. The Lady Popes finished a perfect 28-0 on the season. Cedarburg was led by Allie Barber with 10 to finish at 24-3.
