MILWAUKEE (WTAQ) – The Milwaukee Public Schools are not saying what’s happening with the superintendent’s chief of staff.
Erbert Johnson was put on leave last month, after he extended his middle finger on his head during a School Board meeting as a teachers’ union photographer was clicking away. Now, the Journal Sentinel says another school official could be promoted to Johnson’s post.
The board’s finance committee is expected to consider a recommendation Tuesday night to name Gina Spang as Superintendent Darienne Driver’s new chief of staff.
The Journal Sentinel says it’s among a number of administrative changes to be considered.
Johnson apologized to the teachers’ union after last month’s board meeting — but it was not enough to avoid an investigation into his behavior.
The district is not commenting on the probe, or Johnson’s current employment status, saying the matter is still ongoing.
