MADISON, WI (WTAQ) – The Wisconsin Supreme Court is scheduled to hear arguments in October in a child molestation case against former Fox Lake Police Chief Pat Lynch.
The 59-year-old Lynch was charged nearly 5 years ago with 6 felony counts — three of stalking and three of first-degree child sexual assault, to which he has pleaded not guilty.
The Supreme Court will consider a defense request to obtain privileged records about the victim’s mental health treatment. Without them, the defense says it would not be able to question the victim in court.
The state objects to releasing the records.
The case involves the alleged assault of a 7-year-old girl in 1989 in Randolph. Years later, the victim told authorities that Lynch kept showing up where she worked, and drove his police car past her house.
The former chief is also accused of stalking a woman who used to work for Fox Lake Police, and a man who was dating his ex-wife.
