DES MOINES, Iowa (WSAU-Wheeler News) Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker gets a big, enthusiastic crowd charged up in Des Moines by listing the changes he made in the Badger State.
Walker was one of the high-profile speaker at the Freedom Summit sponsored by Iowa Congressman Steve King. Walker says Republicans need to “go big and go bold.” He spoke of the way he reduced union power, relaxed teacher tenure laws, strengthened gun rights and restricted abortions. He spoke of fighting off a recall effort and winning re-election last fall.
Walker was one of several potential Republican candidates for president in 2016 election who made a summit appearance. He told the crowd he attended elementary school in Iowa until his family moved to Wisconsin.
