OZAUKEE COUNTY, WI (WTAQ) – Wisconsin’s latest reported flu death was that of a two-year-old boy in Ozaukee County.
WISN-TV in Milwaukee said the toddler died on Christmas Day from Type “A” influenza.
Officials are not sure if the boy had any underlying health problems, or whether he had a flu vaccination.
So far this season, at least 3 people have died from the flu. State officials say about 3,000 others in Wisconsin have been hospitalized, mostly senior citizens.
12-year-old Aviana Bailey of Milwaukee and 26-year-old Katherine McQuestion of Kenosha also died from the flu during the holidays.
Health officials say it’s not too late to get a flu shot if you need it. They say a second round of flu cases could hit Wisconsin in March or April.
