UNDATED (WSAU-Wheeler News) J-C Penney says it will close two more of its Wisconsin department stores this spring. The Texas-based retailer gave a required layoff notice to state officials, saying it would shut down stores in Oshkosh and Racine in April. The firm said almost 80 people would lose their jobs at each location.
It was almost a year ago when Penney’s announced the closings of 33 stores nationally — including five in the Badger State. Stores in Wausau, Fond du Lac, Rhinelander, Janesville, and Rice Lake were listed back then.
