(WNFL)- Bucks’ coach Jason Kidd said he did not believe Larry Sanders became a distraction to the team over the past couple of months. Sanders was released on Saturday night. The fifth-year center reached a contract buyout with the team that was reported to be about half of the $44 million he was owed in an extension at the start of the season. Kidd says the current Bucks have played at a high level since Sanders last appeared on the floor December 23rd. That was before his second NBA marijuana suspension. Yesterday, Sanders thanked his fans in a short tweet. On Instagram, he posted a photo from a warm-weather spot and a long message that said in part, “Everyone has struggles. I’m not neglecting that or trying to avoid it. But my ‘flaws’ are easily spotted because that’s all you’ve been shown about me — and what that may seem unfair, my concern is not what you think of me, but what God thinks of me.” When he played, Sanders was often acclaimed as a shot-blocker. He finished second in the N-B-A in blocks in the 2012-’13 season with an average of almost three. Sanders was Milwaukee’s top draft pick in 2010, the 15th overall. He played in 233 games with the Bucks, and started 113.
