Fueled by a career high 34 points from Senior Greg Mays, the Green Bay Phoenix dominated the Detroit Titans 96-76 before 3,252 fans at the Resch Center Wednesday night. Mays bettered his career best 24 by halftime with 26 points that included several high flying dunks. Keifer Sykes, playing with a sprained left thumb, scored 23 points to go along with eight assists and seven rebounds. Detroit was led by Juwan Howard Jr. with 24. The Titans hung with Green Bay for most of the first half with the game tied at 31. That’s when the Phoenix closed the half with a 16-3 run and they were never threatened in the second half. Green Bay improves to 21-6 on the season and 10-3 in the Horizon League. They are a perfect 12-0 at home. The Phoenix host Cleveland State Friday night at 6:00 PM. The teams are tied for second place, one game behind league leading Valparaiso.
