MADISON, Wis (WSAU-Wheeler News) Vandals hit at least 30 homes on the west side of Madison Friday night into Saturday morning. Vulgar language and ethnic and racial slurs were spray-painted on property. The total damage is estimated at more than $10,000.
Some of the graffiti included racial and anti-Semitic slurs and swastikas. Some of the people hit are calling it a hate crime. One of the victims is the president of the Jewish Federation of Madison.
Madison police say they are not considering the case a hate crime at this point. They also say it doesn’t appear to be gang-related.
