WISCONSIN RAPIDS, WI (WTAQ) – A Wisconsin Rapids man who’s awaiting trial for the death of his brother has been sent to prison for almost six years for violating a probation in a previous child sex case.
Visiting Judge Thomas Eagon ruled that 55-year-old Ronald Horan violated terms of his release, by drinking alcohol.
Horan was previously convicted on four counts of third-degree child sexual assault in 1998, for molesting two girls, ages 6 and 7.
Wood County District Attorney Craig Lambert told the judge that the state Corrections Department tried working with Horan to get him to stop drinking, but he wouldn’t do it.
Ronald Horan is scheduled for a four-day trial starting July 28th on a reckless homicide charge in the death last August of 52-year-old Tracy Horan. Prosecutors said the two were arguing when Ronald slammed a door on Tracy — and the victim fell down a set of stairs.
Officials say Ronald Horan panicked, and tried burying his brother in a back yard instead of seeking help.
