MADISON, WI (WTAQ) – Governor Scott Walker’s latest idea on immigration is to build a wall separating the United States and Canada.
Reactions from fellow politicians have not been positive.
Democratic Vermont Senator Patrick Leahy said Monday it is “one of the craziest” ideas of the presidential campaign.
Mike Murphy, head of the Right to Rise super PAC supporting Jeb Bush, says on Twitter that Walker is distracted by focusing on building the wall on the northern border.
Kentucky Senator Rand Paul called it a “pretty dumb idea”.
Walker said on NBC’s “Meet the Press” on Sunday that the issue of border security in the north had been raised by law enforcement officials during a recent town hall meeting in New Hampshire.
