MADISON, WI (WTAQ) – The chairman of the Assembly criminal justice committee says he wanted to give plenty of notice about an upcoming vote on a law about the use of tissue from aborted fetuses.
The September 9th vote will determine whether performing research on tissue obtained that way will become a felony offense.
Chairman Joel Kleefisch (R-Oconomowoc) says the bill would outlaw selling, donating and experimenting with cells, tissues, organs or other fetal body parts.
A public hearing on the measure was held earlier this month.
