SHEBOYGAN, WI (WTAQ) – Jason Day has a two-shot lead entering today’s final round of the PGA Championship at Whistling Straits, but you can bet he isn’t taking anything for granted.
Two shots back is Jordan Spieth and three times this year Day has entered the final round of a major golf tournament on top the leaderboard. 2 of those 3 times Spieth emerged the winner.
Spieth is hoping to become only the third golfer to win 3 majors in one season. Ben Hogan in 1953 and Tiger Woods in 2000 were the others.
The only Wisconsin competitor still in the field is Madison’s Steve Stricker. He shot a 1-under par 71 Saturday and is 2-under going into the final round, tied for 44th.
