HARTLAND, WI (WTAQ) – A suburban Milwaukee church is the latest to have a sign vandalized which used to read “Black Lives Matter.”
The word “Black” was carved out of a banner at Lake Country Unitarian Universalist Church in Hartland. Officials said it happened last Sunday, on the anniversary of last year’s police shooting of Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri, where the slogan was popularized.
A church in Bethesda Maryland also had the word “Black” removed twice in 2 weeks from its “Black Lives Matter” sign. The word was painted over on numerous signs in Mount Pleasant Washington.
Back in February, the First Unitarian Church in Milwaukee had a “Black Lives Matter” sign vandalized.
A few weeks later, somebody left a handwritten note reading, “Majority of interracial murders are black on white. White Lives Matter.”
