GRAFTON, WI (WTAQ) – A suburban Milwaukee industry is facing almost $208,000 in fines, after an employee lost part of a finger at a company plant in northwest Wisconsin.
Kapco Incorporated of Grafton has been cited by the U.S. Occupational and Safety Health Administration for 8 safety violations — two of them “egregious and willful.”
OSHA said a 19-year-old woman lost part of a finger on a spot welding machine at its plant in Osceola. That’s after another worker had part of a finger amputated on the same machine a year earlier.
Kapco has 15 days to either pay the fine, challenge it, or seek a settlement conference with OSHA.
