UNDATED (WSAU-Wheeler News) Another dry day is in the forecast for Wisconsin. That’s great news for those working, playing, and exercising outdoors — but it’s bad news for the risk of wildfires. As of yesterday, the D-N-R said all of Wisconsin was under a “high” fire danger as most of the northern half of the state continues to be in a moderate drought. T
emperatures got up to 70 in La Crosse and Waupaca, while Milwaukee and other spots along Lake Michigan never got out of the low-50’s due to breezes off Lake Michigan. Normal highs for this time of year are in the 60-degree range. Some high clouds moved into northwest Wisconsin during the night, and lows dipped into the upper-20’s in far north central areas. There’s a chance for showers this afternoon in the northwest, before a low-pressure system brings a chance of rain and thunderstorms statewide tomorrow afternoon and evening.
Dry weather is predicted for Thursday, with a slight chance of showers on the weekend. Above-normal temperatures will continue in most of the Badger State. The warmest weather is expected during the weekend.
