(WTAQ-WLUK) — State Supreme Court Justice Annette Ziegler announced she will not run for reelection in 2027.
The former Wisconsin Supreme Court Chief Justice was elected to the Wisconsin Supreme Court in 2007 and was unopposed in her 2017 reelection campaign.
In her statement issued Monday, she said she’s stepping away to spend more time with her husband, kids and grandkids.
This leaves another open seat on the court.
This year, voters will decide between Wisconsin Appeals Court Judge Maria Lazar and Appeals Court Judge Chris Taylor in a seat left vacant by Justice Rebecca Bradley after she announced last August that she would not seek another 10-year term.
