NEENAH, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – People celebrated women’s suffrage in Neenah Sunday.
The Neenah Historical Society opened its newest exhibit, “Voting for a Change: Impact of the 19th Amendment on our Community,” which focuses on the impact of the Amendment.
It guaranteed the right to vote for women 100 years ago.
It features interactive ways for people to learn about the movement.
Society executive director Jane Lang tells FOX 11 it’s important for people to recognize those efforts.
“It’s something we shouldn’t take for granted. Often, today, I think people don’t value their right to vote as much as they should, so we’re hoping to inspire people to value their right to vote.”
The exhibit will be at the Society until the fall of 2020.
