MILWAUKEE, WI (MetroSource-WSAU) Two of Wisconsin’s first CBD stores are open, and already have a customer base. The owners of both Erth Dispensary in Bayview, and the Hemp World Cafe in Riverwest opened over the weekend.
A crowd lined-up around the block to get into Erth Dispensary. Several customers waited more than 30-minutes to get inside the store.
Wisconsin legalized CBD last year. It’s an extract from the hemp plant but contains no THC, the element in marijuana that makes people high. Proponents say the CBD oil or extract can be used to treat everything from seizures to stress.
Customers must be 18 buy CBD products, and children are not allowed in the dispensaries. Some believe CBD oils can help children who suffer from epilepsy. Some items are also intended for pets.
CBD is being sold in pill form, as edibles, lotions, and candles.
