STURGEON BAY, WI (WTAQ) – The administrative assistant at a Door County church that allegedly stole $10,000 from the parish is being charged with theft.
Crystal Miller faces 15 counts of forgery and one of theft.
She is being ordered to make an initial court appearance on December 17, according to court records.
Miller, the former administrative assistant at Christ the King Episcopal Church in Sturgeon Bay, allegedly forged another worker’s signature on $9,873.31 worth of checks and $1,000 in cash was reported missing.
She has already told police that she used the money from the forged checks to pay for various personal bills.
