(GREEN BAY ATHLETICS) EVANSVILLE, Ind. – It was a tough day for the Green Bay men’s basketball team, as they fell in the first game of the Ohio State MTE on the road to Evansville, 98-81.
Anthony Roy scored 31 points, pulling in seven rebounds and two steals, while Marcus added 17 points and Jeremiah Johnson helped out with 11 points. Cameron Heffner led the Purples Aces scoring with 27 points to go with nine rebounds. Evansville shot 59.7-percent as a team and had five players score in double figures.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Phoenix offense struggled from the get-go, falling behind 23-6 in the first nine minutes of the game. From there GB kept pace despite cold shooting and trailed 46-31 heading into the halftime break.
After foul trouble forced Roy out of the game, Evansville was able to extend their lead by as much as 33 after a Haffner three with 5:12 to go. However, Roy would re-enter and help the Phoenix cut into lead significantly before falling 98-81.
