(WNFL) – The Milwaukee Brewers pounded out 14 hits and hit 2 home runs in an 11-3 win over the Oakland A’s in Oakland on Friday.
Rhys Hoskins and Joey Ortiz hit back-to-back home runs in a 5-run second inning for Milwaukee.
Jackson Chourio, Blake Perkins, Gary Sanchez and Sal Frelick each had 2 hits for Milwaukee.
Aaorn Civale started for Milwaukee but made it through only 4 innings, allowing 3 runs on 4 hits and 4 walks.
Bryan Hudson came in, pitched 2 perfect innings of relief and got the win.
Joel Payamps, Trevor McGill and Joe Ross each pitched a scoreless inning of relief to cover the final 3 innings of the game.
JP Sears took the loss for Oakland.
The 2 teams will meet in the second game of the series Saturday afternoon.
