MARINETTE, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – Raymand Vannieuwenhoven made his initial court appearance Friday for the 1976 murders of David Schuldes and Ellen Matheys.
Bond was set at $1 million cash. He returns to court April 30 for the balance of his initial appearance.
Investigators used a DNA profile developed by a lab to narrow down the list of suspects.
A DNA sample provided by Vannieuwenhoven earlier this year matched a sample found on Matheys, who had been sexually assaulted.
