APPLETON, WI (WTAQ) – Many fans are stocking up on new Brewer apparel for Opening Day and the upcoming season.
A new season also means new clothes for fans to buy.
At Scheels in Appleton, Assistant Store Leader Steve Fredrick says this week has been busy, and once again shoppers are keeping up to date with the changes the team is making.
“They are kind of pushing the old ball and glove logo but they are doing it with the navy blue instead of the royal blue.”
He says that means sweatshirts, t-shirts and long sleeve shirts are available to fit the part.
Ryan Helminen of Appleton is going to Miller Park this weekend and says he needed something new to wear, so he picked up a new sweatshirt.
“It is nice to keep up and get some newer clothes. The weather is turning so you know baseball is in the air.”
At Scheels, Brewer apparel starts selling in January.
This year, jerseys are making a comeback.
“We have their alternate away uniform which is probably our biggest one, but then we also have them in pinstripe and white.”
Fredrick says he has noticed a strong excitement for this opening weekend.
Many have made their Brewer opening day plans for today, but for those that want to get out to Miller Park for opening weekend, tickets are still available.
Travis Loftus of TicketKing in Ashwaubenon says Opening Day tickets were still available as of Wednesday night.
“We have starting out around $60 dollars a ticket to get into the door. That will put you in the 400 level Terrace Level.”
Loftus says those prices are a little higher than opening weekend normally is, which is a carryover from last year’s success.
“The Cardinals are a good draw and with how well the Brewers did last year and the anticipation that they will do well again this year, we have seen some really good sales so far.”
The Brewers play the Cardinals at 1:10. Pregame gets underway at 12:35 on WTAQ.
